Perth, Australia 1.0

Hello and behold! This is a way long overdue post on my trip to Perth, Australia in March. So here we go! Well, the boyfie and I decided to make a trip to the land down under - Perth mainly because it was our friend's graduation and his parents could not make it. so technically we were his parents.. :D I wasn't able to fly together with them on the first day as I had some family business to handle so I only flew the day after.

It was so exciting flying alone! Yeah it was my first time too! My sister was worried that I would get lost and what not. Lol. Well, all went well up until I touched down Perth airport and there was no time to lose!! First stop was Fremantle market to get some grub and some sightseeing too.

The boyfie was hungover from the drinking session he and the boys had the night before. Hence... the face.. XD

Freo Market!

This is how the insides of Freo Market looks like.

Then we proceeded to have lunch at a Ramen stall in Freo market. Can't remember what the stall is called but the Ramen was really good although it looks simple!

Our friend Jackie told me that there's this really good macaroons in Freo market which is owned and run by a French. HOW CAN I RESIST??!! Gotta love their Blueberry and Salted Caramel! Macaroons were quite big and flat, and their texture is soft and melts it your mouth. Yums!

The shop is called Maison Saint-Honore. Look at the vibrant colours!

After having lunch, we proceeded to our next destination: Caversham Wildlife Park which our friend Jackie and his cute petite girlfriend Ivy told us that its one of the must-visit spot when they have friends over so they have actually been there for many times. Both the boyfie and i fell asleep in the car cause one was still hungover and the other was just tired and sleepy from the flight.

Stoned Koala & the Jolly Kangaroo

That very round and fat animal is a Wombat.

Couples picture!

Ze Koalas are just so adorble! Fluffy, puffy and really stoned.

Tip for visiting Koalas: The trainer told us this so here i am sharing it with you beforehand. :) If you ever visit a Koala habitat, never touch its Eucalyptus leaves or else they would not eat it any more.

The birds were beautiful and the Kangaroos were so chill and they love food ALOT! We got a chance to feed them! Hehe.. :) There were alot more animals and birds in the park but I am only displaying a few here. And yeah we got to milk the cow (which peed when we did so) and also to witness how sheep shearing is done.

Next stop was supposed to be at the winery but we were down on luck as we got lost! to make things worst, almost all of our phones were running out of battery and only two of us had data plan. So yeah we were lost for almost 2 hours i think? Not so sure as i was actually sleeping in the car. It was summer so yeah thus adds on to my lethargic-ness.. XD So we only went to Margaret River Chocolate Factory which we did not regret at all!

The wide selection of chocolate will make you want everything but try the Sea Salt if you ever visit them! :D

Left: Milk rocky Road; Right: White Rocky Road

A very rich and smooth chocolate milk texture.

Rocky Road ice cream

The best chocolate ice cream that i have come to love so far. (AUD 4.70)

Their Chocolate Sorbet does not taste at all like a sorbet. Tasted more like the consistency of chocolate drizzle but way thicker. The chocolate was rich and flavourful. No icy texture only smooth, rich, creamy chocolate (as you can see by the close up picture of the Rocky Road). I don't favour chocolate ice cream but this is the Best Chocolate ice cream ever tasted!

And then it was dinner time! We had Fish and Chips at Kailis' in Freo town and Nando's. The view was wonderful and the atmosphere was peaceful although there were alot of people. The wind was really, really cold considering it to be summer. The first few days in Perth was really cold and we didn't expect it to be so cold, hence we did not bring any sweater out.

Kailis' Fish & Chips

Kailis' Seafood Delight: 2 scallops, 2 prawns, 2 calamari rings and fish & chips. (AUD 20.90)

Kaili's seafood are very fresh and although it may look small but the portion was just nice. Fries were crispy but the insides were soft. Only thing that i don't like is that their tartar sauce only comes in one packet which wasn't enough for me and they do not have chilli sauce (so Asian, I know :p).
The Nando's platter and sides are slightly different from the Malaysian ones but their marinade is kickin'! As compared to Malaysia's Nando's, it is much more flavourful as you are able to smell the herbs as for the one in Malaysia, its just spicy. Also, the mild is really mild. Go for extra hot as its almost the same as the mild in Malaysia. ;)

Well, that's all for Aussie 1.0, stay tune to this page for Aussie 2.0! :D

P/S: Pictures here are a combination from my friend Jackie, the boyfriend - Kuok Sing and my camera. Thanks guys! :)
